Children’s Area – An Experience of Bubbles, Magic and Royalty-( located on the right side of the map above, to the right of the STAGE.
For 37 years, the Ellwood City Festival has been creating a fun-filled environment for one’s entire family in the children’s area, located in the grassy section just steps away from Folino Stage. “We have something for all ages this year in our children’s area,” states Becky Guisler, who was recently named to her new position as festival chairman. “The only criteria to have fun is to be young at heart.”
This happy little corner of the festival will offer face painting, sand art and caricatures to name a few. In addition, keeping with tradition, the festival committee will sponsor a free arts and crafts tent between the hours of 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Children can stop by and create a make-and-take patriotic tambourine. “Traditions are what the Ellwood City Festival is all about,” Guisler said. “It’s like any holiday we celebrate, families enjoy traditions. I am excited our children’s area offers such memorable traditions such as sand art bottles. I still have the sand art creations my son made at the festival 20 years ago. Moving forward, the festival committee hopes to create new traditions that will continue for another 35 years.”
Some of those newer traditions Guisler speaks about are daily family friendly entertainment acts in the children’s area from 2 – 4 p.m. “Two years ago we started having some exclusive entertainment just for our little ones. I am pleased to announce that this year we have invited some new acts to entertain our visitors.” On Friday, Professor Bubblemaker will spend his afternoon delighting children with his colorful world of bubbles. In addition, the Professor will be strolling the grounds of the entire festival through early evening. Saturday afternoon will bring many people to the children’s area as the festival welcomes Steve Haberman, Magician. He is certain to ‘wow’ our crowds with his magical tricks.
In closing, Guisler states, “Spending time together as a family is truly what is important on holidays and every day. We hope that every family visiting our children’s area will enjoy some love and laughter!”
