Dear Friends of The Arts:

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Juried Art Show as part of the 2009 Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food & Entertainment Festival. This year’s show will again be hosted by the Ellwood City Art Club and will be a three-day Festival held on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Accepted Artwork will be on display at the Trefoil Lodge in Ewing Park during the three-day event that attracts over 20,000 visitors each year. This is a great opportunity for you to display your talent in art for many to view.

We will be honored to have David Ludwick, as the Judge and Juror for this year’s show. Mr. Ludwick is a faculty member at the Butler County Community College in Butler, Pa., where he teaches studio classes in drawing, painting and sculpture as well as art history and creative thinking. He is a former executive director of the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts in New Castle, Pa.

Cash awards and Ribbons will be given for Best of Show, three (3) Distinguished Awards, three (3) Merit Awards. A photo session will be held for all those receiving awards to be publicized in the area newspapers.

As in the past years care will be taken in handling the Artwork. However, the festival committee cannot be responsible for any accidental damage that may occur. Security officers will be on duty throughout the Festival period and a show attendant will be on hand during the show hours.

You are invited to participate in this year’s event. Keep these dates in mind and join us then. This show is open to anyone wishing to enter (no age limit). Please pass this onto friends whom we have not contacted.

Information and Registration Rules

Acceptance;

         a.  All forms of Artwork within the specified limits will be accepted.

         b.  Artwork offensive to the general public will not be accepted.

Entry Place;

         a. Trefoil Lodge  in Ewing Park,  Ellwood City, Pa.

Entry Time;   

         a.  Saturday, June 27th between 7:00 and 9:00 P.M.

               Sunday,   June 28th between 2:00 and 5:00 P.M.

Fees;

                   (Payable at time of Registration Non-Refundable)

a. All entries---------------------------------------------------$5.00 per entry 

b. Framed Paintings Up to 27” x 41” - - - - - - - - - - $5.00  per entry

c. The number of entries are unlimited.

Framing;

a.   All hanging entries must be properly framed and equipped with a secure wire.     

 b. Overall Frame size may not exceed  27” x 41”.

Sculptures;

         a.  Limitations on size and wt. may be imposed if space & handling becomes a problem.

The limitations will be determined by the Art Show Committee at time of entry.

Artwork Identity;

         a.  Two 3" x 5" index cards must accompany each entry

(one must be attached to the work, the other given to the registrar)

       b. Include the following information on each card;

 Phone Number                              Price (if for sale)

Declined Artwork Pick up Time;

       a.  All declined work must be picked up  July 1st, between 4:00     

               and 7:00 P.M. Any declined work not picked-up during these hours                           

               will be charged a storage fee of $1.00 per piece per day unless  

               special arrangements are made with the show committee.

Sales;

a. All sales are the responsibility of the Artist.

Interested buyers can obtain Information on how to contact the Artist from the show attendant.

Accepted Entries;

         a.  Accepted entries MAY NOT BE REMOVED from the show prior to 7:00 P.M. Sunday July, 5th .

         b.  All Artwork MUST BE REMOVED from Trefoil Lodge by July, 5th , after 7:00pm  otherwise a fee of $1.00 per piece per day will be charged.
